Capture current likes and dislikes

      --- Have the child cut out pictures from a magazine of things they relate to!  Paste it onto cardboard.

      --- Ask the child to write out what they

            - like to eat

            - favorite color

            - best subject in school  

            - enjoy for recreation

            - name of best friend
